Builder's outdoor rooms provide extra living space

In many of Kendall Ridge’s home designs, wall-size sliding glass doors lead from the dining room to the outdoor room.

AUBURN -- The sales team at Kendall Ridge believes this weekend is ideal for a "date day," and the community's private homesites on a lush greenbelt offer true romantic living.

"This is a perfect reason to set up a couples' date day or a family adventure day," says sales consultant Marc Davidson. "This is the kind of destination that energizes people."

Built by Australia's MainVue Homes, Kendall Ridge's homes feature Mount Rainier and Auburn Valley views and the builder's signature outdoor rooms.

"There's something special about this unique outdoor room," says sales consultant Jennifer Clarke. "It's more than just a deck or covered patio. It's a second living room that's outside. Between the openness of the outdoor room and spectacular natural outdoors itself, Kendall Ridge has positioned itself to be a must-see place for a new home."

Incorporated into many of MainVue Homes' designs, the outdoor room is surrounded by the house on two or three sides and covered by the roof. One or two wall-size sliding glass doors open to the outdoor room, while flow-through flooring seamlessly tie into the adjacent indoor spaces.

This and other amenities by MainVue Homes can be viewed at the builder's World of Model Homes, a collection of 11 walk-through home designs. The models present "a fine balance of clean lines and grand entries with oversized windows and doors -- all capped off with contemporary color schemes applied to Northwest-like finishes such as timber, brick or stone," Clarke says.

The World of Model Homes is located just down the road from Kendall Ridge. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 29027 123rd Way S.E. in Auburn.

The Sienna, located on Lot 105 at Kendall Ridge and available for tours at the World of Model Homes, is a 2,663-square-foot, two-story design highlighted by an outdoor room that is accessible via the home's dining room and kitchen.

"Homebuyers can't wait to tell me all the ideas they have for this space," says Clarke. "They really understand that it's meant to be another living area, not like decks that you might find in a typical square house."

The Sienna has a covered front porch and designer glass-paneled front door that opens to the grand foyer adjacent to a den/study. The dining room extends into a free-flowing space for the kitchen and nearby great room/lounge area with a fireplace.

The kitchen includes a multiuse island with granite or Caesarstone
countertop, which can seamlessly shift from a work or study station to casual meals. A butler's pantry has a window backsplash and solid melamine shelving.

"Silk-move" Grohe plumbing fixtures are available in every home. Kitchens also include four-piece Frigidaire stainless steel kitchen packages.

On the second floor, a flexible space at the top of the staircase can be used for reading, crafting or playing games. Three bedrooms and a spacious master suite are nearby.
Other features at Kendall Ridge include generous lot sizes, fenced and landscaped front and rear yards, and at least $55,000 in upgrades at no charge.

"Our stylish, modern designs complement the natural surroundings of the community," Clarke says. "As guests explore Kendall Ridge, they're going to discover the bluff-top playground site and an additional grassy open space -- both of which provide wonderful places for kids to safely explore and play without ever having to leave their neighborhood."

Green River Community College, the SuperMall, Auburn Medical Center, and transit and rail links from Auburn Station are a few minutes' drive from Kendall Ridge.
