NEWCASTLE -- Lake Boren Townhomes is located on the northwest shore of Lake Boren, and is eight minutes from downtown Bellevue. Since its grand opening in March, 35 percent of the community's first phase of homes have sold.
"Buyers are definitely responding to the value in this amazing lakefront property that's so close to downtown Bellevue and Seattle," says Erik Mehr of Erik Mehr & Associates, the sales group that is representing Lake Boren Townhomes.
Prices for the townhomes start at $329,888. FHA financing is available with as little as 3.5 percent down. A 20 percent down payment will reduce a buyer's monthly mortgage payments to less than $975 per month.
"A person can't begin to rent something as nice for a comparable price," Mehr says. "This is a one-of-a-kind waterfront community with a gorgeous 80-foot lakefront recreation area, entertaining-sized fire pit, built-in barbecues, picnic tables and four kayaks for exclusive resident use. You can connect to the outdoors and have a fun waterfront space to gather your friends."
Floor plans range in size from 1,208 square feet for a two-bedroom, two-bath townhome to nearly 1,600 square feet for a three-bedroom, three-bath unit. Homes also feature one- or two-car attached garages and entertainment-size decks.
Kitchens and living and dining areas are located on a separate level from the bedrooms for added privacy. The kitchens feature dark Wenge wood or light oak cabinets, slab granite countertops with ceramic tile backsplashes, stainless steel appliances and hardwood-style floors.
Nine-foot ceilings on the main floor and oversized windows fill the homes with light. Electronic wall safes are included in every home.
If residents want to leave their cars in the garage for the weekend, the pedestrian-friendly Newcastle neighborhood makes it easy. Starbucks, a wine bar, an array of restaurants, QFC and Safeway, a farm-fresh produce market and a new library that's opening soon are all within two blocks.
"Just down the road, you've got one of the nation's 25 best trail-running spots at Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, according to Runner's World magazine -- 36 miles of trails and the only Washington destination to make the list, " Mehr says. "Lake Boren Park is literally steps from these homes and is the nucleus of Newcastle's extensive trail system.
"Then you drive just a few minutes and you're linked to all the nightlife and action in downtown Bellevue and Seattle. It's really the best of both worlds. You're immediately connected to the outdoors, but only minutes to city life."
Lake Boren Townhomes was created by Continental Properties, LLC, an award-winning development team that has 25 years of local experience.
"Savvy buyers experience the unique setting, see the great value and realize this doesn't exist anywhere else," Mehr says.
