Several of hillside community's homes can be customized

REDMOND -- Built on a hillside overlooking the Sammamish Valley and featuring its own view park, Woodlands Ridge is a community of four- to six-bedroom homes priced from the mid-$600,000s.

Five of the cul-de-sac neighborhood's homes have sold in the past two months. Eleven homes remain for sale, including two that border the community's 2.3-acre greenbelt and four that offer views of the valley and the Olympic Mountains.

Ben Kuhn and his wife, Iris, moved into Woodlands Ridge last month. He says they were drawn to the community because of its boutique size.

"Woodlands Ridge has a very nice, open feel to it -- it doesn't feel packed in," says Kuhn. "We wanted a smaller community so that we could get to know all of our neighbors."

Although it has been only a matter of weeks since they moved in, they've already accomplished that, he says. "We met most of our neighbors before we even moved in. Everyone comes out to say hi, which is exactly the type of community we were looking for."

Built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers Company, Woodlands Ridge will have 25 homes when it's complete. Two of the homes will be ready for move-in later this year, two are scheduled for completion in early 2013, and the rest are being sold presale.

Presale buyers can take advantage of the builder's CamYes! program, which allows them to personalize their spaces beyond finish materials and color selections.

"We had the opportunity to pick all of our interior design finishes," Kuhn says. "There are many standard finishes to choose from; we didn't feel constrained by our choices. There were an amazing number of tile options.

"Our project managers were very pleasant to work with and made the process go smoothly. They were very patient and responded to our questions quickly. At the end of the day, we feel like they've taken care of us," he says.

Woodlands Ridge has a variety of exterior architectural styles that include stone, shingle and brick detailing, covered front porches, sharply pitched rooflines, accent trusses and arched doorways. Depending on the floor plan, homes offer main-floor guest suites, top-floor open bonus rooms, master suites that extend the width of the homes, and daylight basements with bonus rooms and/or bedrooms.

Interiors feature hardwood flooring on the main level, gas fireplaces framed in tile and extensive millwork throughout. Kitchens have granite islands, custom built-ins such as wine racks, and natural wood cabinetry. Completing the look are stainless steel appliance packages with gas cooktops.

"It's the little things that we love about our home. We appreciate the open floor plan and that we back to the greenbelt -- that was important to us," Kuhn says.

Woodlands Ridge offers convenient access to Interstate 405, state Route 520 and Woodinville-Redmond Road. The Microsoft campus is less than seven miles away, and nearby shopping options include Redmond Town Center and the Bella Bottega Shopping Center.
