SAMMAMISH -- In the past few weeks, six homes have sold at The Woods at Beaver Lake. The collection of three- and four-bedroom homes is located on the Sammamish Plateau and is surrounded by a forest and open space.
The homes include two- or three-car garages and are priced from $642,900. Both completed and presale homes are available for sale.
The Woods at Beaver Lake is located near Beaver Lake Park, Pine Lake and Lake Sammamish. A trailhead that leads to Sammamish's Soaring Eagle Park is also within walking distance.
Shops and services at Sammamish Highlands Center and Pine Lake Village are nearby, as is a Costco store. Residents also have easy access to Issaquah and Redmond.
"I live in Sammamish and just love it," says Kathleen Pennington, community sales manager at The Woods at Beaver Lake. "The people who live here are heavily involved in the community -- it's a very progressive town, very committed to preserving its quality of life and natural surroundings. Pine Lake hosts a summer concert series each year, and there's a summer farmers market at Sammamish Commons. [Children can] walk to two of the schools that serve our neighborhood."
Homebuyers can choose from eight floor plans, some of which include daylight basements, top-floor lofts and bonus rooms. The homes feature traditional architectural elements such as exposed timber trusses, stucco, cedar siding, and brick or stone details. Pennington says the home designs were created specifically for The Woods at Beaver Lake to reflect its natural setting.
"These homes are lovely, really gorgeous," she says. "In keeping with our surrounding trees and greenbelt, the homebuilder created a Craftsman-style Northwest lodge aesthetic. The attention to detail is second to none: 10-foot ceilings, 8-foot doors and elegant millwork throughout.
"The Portsmouth plan -- which is our model home -- includes a two-story great room, which people absolutely love. An upper foyer overlooks the room, and the centerpiece is the fireplace with a grand, two-story interior chimney of cultured stone."
Design elements include coffered ceilings with recessed panels, custom built-ins, slab granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.
All front yards are maintained by the homeowners' association, and there are two private parks and a trail that winds throughout the neighborhood.
"When you drive through [The Woods at Beaver Lake], you'll see homeowners out talking with each other in their yards [and] kids riding their bikes, playing on the swings or playing basketball in the park," Pennington says.
The Woods at Beaver Lake was built by Sequoia LLC, an affiliate of Steve Burnstead LLC. Steve's father, Fred Burnstead, began building homes east of Lake Washington more than 50 years ago, and today three companies are united under The Burnstead name.
The company is committed to building sustainable communities through its Living Wise program. Extensive use of low volatile organic compound (VOC) materials helps to create a healthier indoor-air environment, and 2-by-6 exterior walls provide added strength in the homes' framing. Recycled construction waste is used as building material throughout the homes.
"The Burnstead name is associated with trust and a high level of commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer service," says Pennington. "If you are serious about purchasing a home that you can live in for years to come, I encourage you to stop by and visit The Woods at Beaver Lake. With 30-year fixed mortgage rates at all-time lows, you can now afford to buy the home of your dreams."
