Community releases second phase of homes

Summer Grove’s second phase of homes includes three-, four- and five-bedroom floor plans in six designs. Sixteen homes remain for sale.

KIRKLAND -- Sixteen homes remain for sale in the recently released second phase at Summer Grove. The collection of three- to five-bedroom homes is located within walking distance of downtown Kirkland and Juanita Beach Park.

"The homes have been in great demand -- we're averaging three to four home sales each month," says Kelly Nutt, the listing agent at Summer Grove. "We even have some homes with Cascade mountain and territorial views."

Jessica and Matt Morales moved into their new home at Summer Grove last month. The Michigan transplants are first-time homeowners. Although they hadn't been planning on purchasing a home, they felt the timing was right.

"A lot of our friends in the Midwest are buying their first houses, and we wanted to live the American dream as well, but didn't know if we could afford to," Jessica Morales says. "But today's low interest rates were a compelling factor. We wanted to stay in the downtown Kirkland vicinity, and we wanted to buy a brand-new home because it would require less maintenance than a resale. So I went online and found Summer Grove."

Built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company, Summer Grove offers a cul-de-sac setting where buyers can select from six floor-plan options. There are three fully fenced backyard-landscaping packages that include fire pits, garden beds or water features.

Homeowners can move into their new homes beginning in February, and they can customize their spaces through the homebuilder's CamYes! program.

"With the variety of floor plans CamWest offered, we were able to find a design we liked," Morales says. "The home we purchased was already under construction, but we still had the opportunity to select the floors, the countertops and the light fixtures. The finishes we picked out make our home unique.
"The contractors were great to work with -- they were very organized and paid attention to the details."

Interiors feature five-piece master baths with soaking tubs, Craftsman-inspired woodwork throughout the spaces, 9-foot ceilings on the main level, built-in art and furniture niches, and stainless steel kitchen-appliance packages with gas cooktops.

"All of the great rooms include gas fireplaces wrapped in slate to cozy up to in the winter," says Nutt. "And the homes are extremely well-built and insulated for the cooler months."

The neighborhood includes a private park with seating and play equipment, and a second park is being built as part of the new phase. In addition, all front yards are maintained by the neighborhood's homeowners' association.

Summer Grove is across the street from a grocery store and is surrounded by services and restaurants. The location offers easy access to Interstate 405, and the Microsoft campus is less than nine miles away.

Toll Brothers is among the nation's leading builders of luxury homes. Its recent purchase of CamWest Development, LLC -- which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years -- expands the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest.
