ISSAQUAH -- Nine homes remain for sale at West Highlands Park. The two- and three-story single-family homes are located on a plateau within the Issaquah Highlands master-planned community and feature mountain and Lake Sammamish views.

"New homeowners could move in as early as January, when two of the homes are scheduled for completion," says Kristi Dilts, the community sales manager. "We'll have an additional three homes complete and ready for move-in in February, and the remaining four are being sold presale."

Located just west of Issaquah Highlands' High Street Retail Village, West Highlands Park is within the Issaquah School District and offers easy-on access to Interstate 90.

"Location was one of the key reasons we chose our home at West Highlands Park," says Min Park, who -- along with her husband, David, and their two children -- moved into the neighborhood in July 2011. "It's not even a half-mile to the park-and-ride lot, and it's close to both my husband's work and mine. And because we have young children, the school district was important to us."

The neighborhood is being built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company. Buyers who purchase a home can customize their spaces to fit their needs through the homebuilder's CamYes! program, working one-on-one with the community's project manager.

All of the homes under construction will include two-car garages and three levels of living space: a lower level with a private bedroom and attached full bath, an open great room on the main level, and three additional bedrooms and a laundry room on the top floor.

"We hadn't purchased a new-construction home before, but when we walked through the model home, we liked it," Park says. "It didn't feel cookie-cutter and it had a more modern appeal.

"All of the high-end interior finishes are great as well. We love the combination of the wood and carpeted floors, as well as the slab granite countertops. Everything that we felt should be included in new construction was."

Issaquah Highlands will expand its retail offerings next year when it opens Grand Ridge Plaza, a shopping village located a short walk from the West Highlands Park neighborhood. The open-air center's amenities will include Regal Cinemas, Big Fish Grill, Ram Restaurant & Brewery, Safeway, Dick's Sporting Goods, Marshalls and HomeGoods.

"The roster of new retail coming to Grand Ridge Plaza is incredibly appealing. We are all very excited," says Park.

Issaquah Highlands includes 1,500 acres of parks, open space and trails. The community was designed to foster interaction, incorporating a park within a quarter mile of every home to encourage homeowners to get out into the neighborhoods.

West Highlands Park has two view parks -- one with play equipment and the second with a large lawn.

"The neighborhood layout encourages us to be more involved in the community," Park says. "We know all of our neighbors and are lucky enough to be very good friends with many of them. Living here is a great experience -- we all look out for each other."

Toll Brothers is among the nation's leading builders of luxury homes. Its recent purchase of CamWest Development, LLC -- which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years -- expands the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1967, Toll Brothers is now building homes in 20 states.

Toll Brothers was named 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine, becoming the first builder to win the honor twice.
