REDMOND — Since the beginning of the year, 15 homes have sold at Parkridge at The Woodlands. The community, under construction in the Education Hill area, will include a variety of architectural styles and home designs with up to five bedrooms.

Among the first homebuyers were Guru Nagaraju and his wife, Sowmya Kodimela. The couple heard about the neighborhood from friends who live at Parkridge's sister community, The Woodlands. Both are built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company.

"We'd heard a lot of positive things about The Woodlands — a couple of my friends live there and say it's calm and quiet," Nagaraju says. "We liked the model home's high ceilings and the finishes, such as the slab granite and the millwork around the windows. Those are all standard, whereas in other communities they would be upgrades."

He says the homebuilder's customization program was one of the reasons they chose to purchase at Parkridge. It allows homeowners to work directly with Parkridge's project manager to create a home that fits their personal styles.

"A lot of builders allow you to add more to the home, but if you want to alter the floor plan a bit, they won't allow that," Nagaraju says. "CamWest's program is a great opportunity for us to customize to our needs.

"This is my first time buying a home, so I've had a lot of questions. [The project manager is] very patient and not in a hurry at our meetings. The homebuilder contacted the design center for us, and the center called us to set up appointments around our schedule. They have also been kind enough to make suggestions, which has been really great.

"A couple of my friends told us when we bought our home that it would hectic, but that hasn't been so," he says.

Homebuyers at Parkridge can select from 13 floor-plan options. Four homes are available for sale, and each has a different plan. Buyers can move in as early as August.

All of the homes include formal and informal living spaces, five-piece master baths and two-car garages. Depending on the plan, layouts also may include third-floor loft spaces, wide front porches, second-floor covered balconies and main-floor bedrooms with adjacent three-quarter baths.

Community amenities include 3 acres of land set aside for protected greenbelts, a private playground and trails that connect to adjacent neighborhoods.

"The neighborhood has some larger homesites — some are 6,000 square feet or more," says John L. Scott Real Estate's Jamie Ham, the listing agent at Parkridge. "That's unusual for brand-new construction, and a great bonus for buyers."

Parkridge at The Woodlands is close to Interstate 405 and state Routes 202 and 520. Redmond Town Center, Marymoor Park, Willows Run Golf Course and the Sammamish River Trail are also nearby.

"We are in a great location, near conveniences like PCC Natural Markets, Starbucks and Bella Bottega shopping center," Ham says. "We're in the Lake Washington School District, and we're approximately 5 miles from the Microsoft campus and 7 miles from Google's Kirkland offices."

Toll Brothers was named 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine, becoming the first builder to win the honor twice. Its purchase of CamWest Development, LLC — which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years — expanded the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest.

Founded in 1967, Toll Brothers is now building homes in 20 states.
