NORMANDY PARK — May 4-5 marks the grand opening of Normandy Park, a community of four- and five-bedroom homes built on estate-size lots.
Visitors on both days can enter a drawing for a $400 gift certificate to Salish Lodge. Representatives from Guild Mortgage will be available both days to discuss financing options and to serve refreshments.
"This exciting neighborhood is already getting multiple offers," says Cara Currey, the listing agent at Normandy Park. "Nowhere else in King County are these home styles being offered in a surrounding of parks, water, trees, [and with] Puget Sound and Olympic views. The setting is spectacular."
She says the community's location in the city of Normandy Park is close to Sea-Tac Airport, the Boeing plant in Renton, and downtown Seattle and Tacoma.
Currey says she has seen an increase in the number of shoppers at the community's model home in the past several weeks. They have included downtown Seattle professionals, pilots, retirees, families and empty nesters.
"The real estate market is back in greater Seattle," she says. "Homes are selling, prices are still below the highs of a few years ago, interest rates are low and new-home communities are getting a lot of attention."
Homes at Normandy Park are built by Hultquist Homes and range in size from 3,257 to 4,177 square feet. Several floor plans are rambler-style designs that include a master suite on the main floor — "the latest design trend in new homes," Currey says.
The furnished model home at Normandy Park features the Alderwood floor plan. It is a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath rambler-style home with a three-car garage. It includes solid-core doors, extensive trim detail, a Viking range, outdoor living space with a gas fire pit, and a fully landscaped and fenced yard. It is for sale and priced at $799,950.
Other homes are in various stages of construction and are available for viewing this weekend. They are positioned to best utilize the property and create an attractive neighborhood streetscape, Currey says.
Standard features in every home include custom millwork, hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliance packages, Huntwood kitchen cabinetry, and 3-centimeter slab granite countertops with custom-designed tile backsplashes.
"The builder is a perfectionist, and the care he puts into each home shows," Currey says.
