Hillside community designed with views in mind

Shorelane Vistas is located across the street from Lake Sammamish, and homesites are positioned for west-facing views.

SAMMAMISH — Ray and Jenn Bennett purchased a home at Shorelane Vistas in April, and they say they have enjoyed watching the progress of construction.

"We're excited to see our house become a reality," says Jenn Bennett. "Now that the home is in framing, we're able to see how the rooms lay out, and our daughters, Allysen and Keira, are able to envision what it is going to look like. It's no longer just a floor plan on a piece of paper."

The community is located across the street from Lake Sammamish, and is near the East Lake Sammamish Trail.

"The floor plan we chose takes advantage of the view of Lake Sammamish. Our main living space — the kitchen, dining room and great room — has an amazing view of the lake," says Ray Bennett.

There are 38 homes planned at Shorelane Vistas featuring 10 floor plans. Built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company, the community is located in the Issaquah School District.

"The builder has designed the community carefully, and planned all homesites for the best possible western-facing sunset and water views," says John L. Scott Real Estate's Anne McIntosh, the listing agent at Shorelane Vistas. "We have some great homesites on the market right now with nice views. And early next year, we'll be unveiling our model home, which is currently under construction."

Architectural styles include Tudor, shingle and Craftsman, and most of the floor plans include basements with bonus rooms or guest bedrooms. Of the 38 homes planned, nine have been sold and six are for sale.

Because the homes are being sold prior to construction, homebuyers can personalize their spaces to their own tastes and styles. The Bennetts added a mudroom and reconfigured their master suite.

"The project manager is very accessible," says Ray Bennett. "We can call, email or meet with him about any ideas we have, and he works with us to come up with good solutions to our requests. We've been surprised by how easy it is. We are pretty hands-on people, and they work well with us."

Adds Jenn Bennett, "That is what's nice: You can personalize the home to your tastes or let [the builders] finish it to their spec level."

Shorelane Vistas is located near the 512-acre Lake Sammamish State Park, which features hiking and biking trails, sports fields, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds and nearly 7,000 feet of waterfront. A boat launch is three minutes from the community.

Shorelane Vistas will also have its own community park, which will serve as a gathering space for neighbors.

Toll Brothers was named 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine, becoming the first builder to win the honor twice. Its purchase of CamWest Development, LLC — which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years — expanded the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest.
