SEATTLE — Briarcliff at Magnolia is offering behind-the-walls tours on Sept. 28 of a home under construction. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The tours are part of Toll Advantage Days, sponsored by the community's builder, CamWest, a Toll Brothers company. Set atop Magnolia Bluff, the 36 three- and four-bedroom homes at Briarcliff represent the only new luxury-home collection in Seattle's iconic Magnolia neighborhood.
Briarcliff at Magnolia features views of Seattle's skyline, Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains and the Puget Sound.
"We have six homes in framing, representing a variety of floor plans," says Aubree Hazel, the community sales manager. "This weekend is the perfect time for a hard-hat tour to experience the quality of construction firsthand.
"What makes our home collection so appealing is that it offers modern, open-concept spaces, which are hard to find in Magnolia's resale homes. And although the interiors cater to today's lifestyles, the homes' exteriors complement the surrounding neighborhood."
Hazel says the first family has moved into its Briarcliff home.
"They were so surprised by how family-friendly the neighborhood is," she says. "They told me that there is more foot traffic than cars — people who live in the area get out and walk. They live across from an impromptu neighborhood gathering space on the top of the hill. People walk their dogs, and kids play there after school before they scatter to their homes for dinner.
"The new homeowners were also pleasantly surprised by their home's views. There are so many beautiful outlooks in the neighborhood."
The homes at Briarcliff are being sold presale, so homeowners have the opportunity to personalize them.
All homes include full-height decorative kitchen backsplashes, wood-wrapped bathroom mirrors and kitchen cabinetry topped by crown molding. Depending on the floor plan, layouts may include lower-level rec rooms, private guest bedrooms, formal sitting or living rooms, open bonus rooms and wine storage.
Briarcliff at Magnolia is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Seattle and within a half-mile of the trails and tidal beaches of the 534-acre Discovery Park.
Metropolitan Market is minutes away on 34th Avenue West, and about a mile away is Magnolia Village, which includes restaurants and boutiques such as Szmania's, Serendipity Café & Lounge, Magnolia Village Pub, Magnolia's Bookstore and Leroux Fine Apparel for Men & Women.
Hazel says the neighborhood has a welcoming, inclusive spirit.
"I'll have kids in the neighborhood stop by to talk with me — two set up a lemonade stand right outside our sales office," she says. "People will stop me to say that they saw me at one of the neighborhood's festivals. I feel like we've really become a part of the Magnolia community."
Toll Brothers was named 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine, becoming the first builder to win the honor twice. Its purchase of CamWest Development, LLC — which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years — expanded the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest.
