MUKILTEO — Michelle Hamshaw has called Mukilteo home for more than 20 years. It was her love of the historic seaside town that drew her to her present job: selling the homes under construction at its newest community, Westbrook Ridge.
"I really do love Mukilteo," she says. "When I found out that CamWest was building this intimate cul-de-sac neighborhood, I just had to be part of the sales team. To have new construction of this caliber in Mukilteo is such a wonderful opportunity for homebuyers."
When complete, the boutique collection of 22 three- to five-bedroom homes will be located within an existing residential neighborhood on a bluff above Puget Sound.
The site borders a 1-acre protected natural-growth area and includes views of the water, the Olympic Mountains and Whidbey Island.
"Everyone loves our setting — it feels very open, and there is plenty of natural light," says Kelly Nutt, the listing agent at Westbrook Ridge. "We have some view homes available."
Westbrook Ridge is within the Mukilteo School District, and a walkway will lead from the neighborhood to an elementary school and a middle school.
Five homes are under construction at Westbrook Ridge; three are scheduled for completion early next year.
"Homebuyers can choose from two-story and daylight-basement home designs," Nutt says. "We have 12 floor plans and a nice mix of architectural styles, so the neighborhood will have great curb appeal. The designs are very open and free-flowing, and the kitchens and great rooms are especially large.
"The basement homes include a full bedroom, a full bath and a rec room [downstairs]. And a number of the floor plans have open, two-story dining rooms."
Interiors will feature hardwood floors, white-painted millwork, stainless steel appliances, and granite kitchen countertops with full-height backsplashes.
Those who purchase a presale home can personalize their spaces with the assistance of a professional designer at CamWest's design studio in downtown Kirkland. Thousands of options are available to outfit the homes at Westbrook Ridge.
Boeing's Everett plant is less than 2 miles away, and Interstate 5, state Route 525 and the Mukilteo ferry terminal are located nearby. Mukilteo has been named one of CNNMoney's "Best Places to Live," and is home to the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour, the Harbour Pointe Golf Club and Mukilteo Lighthouse Park.
"It's a small, beachy town, but it's close to everything," Hamshaw says. "From your home at Westbrook Ridge, you are only about 5 minutes from the beach, Boeing or the ferry. You can be in downtown Seattle in 30 to 35 minutes, or Sea-Tac Airport in 50 minutes."
The homes at Westbrook Ridge are being built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company. Toll Brothers was named 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine, becoming the first builder to win the honor twice. Its purchase of CamWest Development, LLC — which has been building homes locally for more than 20 years — expanded the company's reach to the Pacific Northwest.
