RENTON — Homebuyers know what they want, says Janelle Brulotte. And at Beclan, she says, they know that they can get it.

Tours of 30 homesites are being offered this weekend at Beclan, located in the Renton Highlands. The community, which opened in August, is near Interstate 405 and numerous shopping venues.
Brulotte says the homes at Beclan will be built with each owner's style — and lifestyle — in mind.
"At Beclan, we're seeing a lot of demand for bathroom and kitchen customizations," she says. "A spa bath with a soaker tub, or a large shower with built-in seats and custom tile, may be just what a buyer is looking for. Or it may be a gourmet kitchen with built-in appliance,
frameless cabinetry and stone counters. We love being able to make that dream come true."
Shoppers at Beclan can learn about available amenities and customization options by making an appointment at the Quadrant Homes Design Studio in Bellevue. The studio includes thousands of finishes, colors and materials, and is where buyers select their floor plan, appliances, cabinetry and lighting.
"Buyers love knowing they can put their own stamp on a home," Brulotte says. "This is one of the biggest purchases of your life — why not have it exactly how you want it? When buyers are involved in the design from the start, the home's layout, materials and design reflect their vision, not someone else's."
A variety of floor-plan options are available for Beclan homes. For example, buyers may opt for a den in lieu of a formal dining room.
Brulotte says that the builder's approach provides a middle ground between custom building, which can be expensive, and the inflexibility that often comes with buying a preowned home.
"Personalizing the floor plan is extremely popular," she says. "It really gives buyers exactly what they want. For a growing family, an extra bedroom may trump an open loft space.
"We're also seeing a lot of folks choose elements that will keep their home clutter-free by design. We see many buyers going with well-designed mudrooms with features like a bench with shoe cubbies, a cubby tower or a coat-hook bar."
Brulotte says there has been a demand for outdoor living spaces at Beclan: "Outdoor fireplaces and covered patios can really extend the home into the outdoors."
