Outdoor room connects with natural setting

BOTHELL — In its own spotlight, the signature outdoor room in the Sola Q1 home design has a starring role. When combined with the Parkhaven community's setting in a lush pocket of south Snohomish County, the home becomes an ensemble performance.

The synchronicity between the outdoor room and nature's changing seasons makes the Sola Q1 stand out at Parkhaven, according to Amanda Loring, a sales representative with the community's builder, MainVue Homes.

Centering the outdoor room next to interior living space in the Sola Q1 was a stroke of brilliance, Loring says.

"The refined and covered outdoor room invites homeowners outdoors to capture the nuances of seasonal shifts — a far cry from other homebuilders' designs, which offer an obsolete algae-covered concrete pad off the back door," she says.

"[The design allows residents to] relax in their great room, entertain in their dining room or prepare dinner in their kitchen and still enjoy the dramatic touches of every season that come in through the outdoor room's floor-to-ceiling windows and full-length sliding glass walls."

Eleven homes are available at Parkhaven, which is also the location of MainVue Homes' World of Model Homes, a collection of eight home designs, including the Sola Q1. The 3,446-square-foot home includes a covered front porch. A foyer opens to a side space for a den/study, and beyond that is a sequestered multipurpose room.

Near the center of the main floor's great room is the outdoor room. Two sets of sliding glass walls connect to the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen includes a multiuse island with a granite or Caesarstone countertop.

Grohe "silk-move" plumbing fixtures and a four-piece Frigidaire stainless steel appliance package capture the attention of visitors who've toured the model, according to Loring's associate, Larry Aherns.

A hallway connects the kitchen to the home's two-car garage and to a walk-in butler's pantry with built-in shelves.

Upstairs, there is a space that Ahrens calls "the ultimate family room," which can be used for reading, gaming, crafts or homework.

The master suite is at the rear of the upper level, and entry is through a set of French doors. The suite includes a walk-in dressing room. A separate bathroom has a designer-selected freestanding tub, shower and dual-sink vanity.

Loring and Ahern are working with homebuyers to apply MainVue Homes' $75,000 to $125,000 in luxury inclusions, available at no extra charge on the Sola Q1 home.

Parkhaven is located near Interstate 405, which "is attractive to people who work on the Eastside or in downtown Bellevue or Seattle," Loring says.

"We have a Bothell address, but it's a stone's throw from all the amenities and conveniences of Mill Creek Town Center," she says.

Parkhaven backs up to Tambark Creek Park, which features newly finished playfields, an off-leash dog park and miles of walking trails.
