REDMOND — On Jan. 18 from 1-5 p.m., Kempin Meadows is celebrating the opening of its furnished model home with a special event that includes free kettle corn and lattés, as well as train rides and caricature drawings for kids.
The design firm Ryan-Young Interiors decorated the model home to showcase the possibilities available to homebuyers at Kempin Meadows, says Jim Summers, the community's listing agent.
"This model home is absolutely spectacular — and that's not overpromising," he says. "People who have had the chance to tour the home prior to this weekend's official opening are just wowed by the design and the layout. I get that same feeling every time I walk in the front door."
When complete, Kempin Meadows will have 58 three- to five-bedroom paired homes. The neighborhood's serene setting includes two community parks, 2.5 acres of preserved wetlands and a border of mature evergreen trees. All front yards are maintained by the homeowners' association.
The model features the 2,886-square-foot Neimann floor plan. The three-story home has an open rec room on the lower level, a library off the great room on the main living level, and three bedrooms on the third level.
"For the model home, we chose to have a large rec room on the lower level, but the [Neimann] plan can also be configured with a fourth bedroom and a third full bath adjacent to the rec room," Summers says. "The rec room has been designed as a game/media room with a pool table and a large bar. It looks out over the wetlands and has a patio with a firepit. It's a really cool space.
"You walk through the front door and into a 17-foot-high entryway. Up the staircase is the main floor with a fireplace and wood-panel media center. The entire main level features travertine-tile floors, and the family room has huge corner windows — it's almost total glass."
The model home's kitchen features blown-glass pendant lighting, a slab-granite island with seating for four, and quartz countertops. The powder room has walls of mosaic tiles, and the library includes built-in bookshelves and a two-person desk.
Upstairs are the three bedrooms, as well as a laundry room.
"Everyone is going to love the master suite," he says. "It looks out over the neighborhood rain garden and features a wood-panel wall behind the bed. The master bath has a slab marble vanity and decorative tile accents in the shower that are repeated in the vanity backsplash."
The homes at Kempin Meadows are being built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company. Buyers who purchase a presale home can work with a professional designer at the builder's design studio to personalize their interiors with their choice of color palettes and finishes.
The community is approx-imately 6 miles from Marymoor Park and 4 miles from Redmond Town Center and downtown Redmond. The location provides a convenient commute to major employers in the area, including Microsoft, which is less than 8 miles away.
