RENTON — Claremont, a community of 91 three- to six-bedroom single-family homes, released its second phase of homes last month.

Built by CamWest, a Toll Brothers company, the community has one move-in-ready home, two homes that will be completed in April and eight presale homes available.

"It's been fantastic — there's been so much activity," says Kristi Brewer, the listing agent at Claremont. "We just staged the move-in-ready home so homebuyers can get a feel for how the home will live. It's our Lopez floor plan, which includes a huge master suite with a sitting area and two walk-in closets. The home also has a spacious fourth bedroom that could be used as a bonus room."

The presale homes feature two-story and two-story-plus-basement designs, and several back to protected green space that borders the neighborhood on the north and west. Depending on the floor plan, homes may include covered front porches, main-floor guest suites, two-story dining rooms, second-floor bonus rooms, and formal and informal living spaces.

"Our basement designs also include a guest suite on the lower level, plus a large bonus room, which is ideal for multigenerational families," Brewer says.

Homebuyers who purchase presale can personalize their spaces at the Design Studio, which celebrates its grand opening this weekend. A partnership between Toll Brothers and Macadam Floor and Design, the 6,000-square-foot studio features idea-inspiring vignettes and a variety of finish options, including 1,400 carpet colors, 325 wood finishes and 147 tile styles.

"At the Design Studio, homeowners can pick their cabinet colors, appliances, lighting, plumbing, flooring, countertops and window coverings," says Mike Owen, general manager of the Design Studio. "In the past, design centers were overwhelming, so we designed ours to look like a home with a working kitchen, stone fireplace with seating, and an upper mezzanine with a couch and TV.

"We typically have two selection appointments with the homeowners and a third appointment to review the finishes and to make sure they are comfortable with their choices. It's much more efficient than a traditional finish-selection process," he says.

The Design Studio, located at 101 10th St. S. in Kirkland, is open to the public today from noon to 5 p.m. Individuals can stop by to take a tour and meet Carter Oosterhouse, the host of numerous HGTV shows and author of "Carter's Way: A No-Nonsense Method for Designing Your Own Super Stylish Home."

"Taking a tour of the Design Studio can serve as an inspiration for styling your own home at Claremont," Brewer says. "Plus, the first 50 people who stop by the Design Studio today will receive copies of Carter's book to be autographed."

Claremont is located within walking distance of Apollo Elementary School.
