SEATTLE — Briarcliff at Magnolia, a collection of 36 three- and four-bedroom homes, is celebrating the grand opening of its model home on Saturday, March 8 from noon-5 p.m.
The event highlights Briarcliff's location in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood with local flavors, prizes and giveaways, including lattés from Caffe Appassionato and gift cards to area restaurants.
Visitors that day can enter for a chance to win an original painting of Briarcliff's view by Seattle artist Aaron Hazel. Other activities include a photo flipbook station, which will capture the day's events in pocket-size photo books for guests to take home.
Briarcliff at Magnolia features views of Seattle's skyline, Mount Rainier, the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. The model home was outfitted by Ryan Young Interiors with a contemporary nautical theme to celebrate Briarcliff's connection to the Sound. Design elements include white-painted wainscoting and molding, and stainless steel tiles. Maritime art pieces further complement the water views.
"In designing the interiors, we wanted to speak to the location of the community, so we incorporated materials that you might find on a high-end boat — but in a warm, subtle way," says Tara Ryan, co-founder of Ryan Young Interiors. "The wood detailing lends itself to the nautical design. It's a fresh motif with a rich-yet-fun color palette, such as blues and oranges, that underscores the more contemporary style."
The community's builder, CamWest, was careful to design the neighborhood to harmonize with existing homes in the area, says Aubree Hazel, the listing agent at Briarcliff at Magnolia.
"We have a diverse selection of architectural designs, including traditional, Craftsman and shingle, along with contemporary styles with butterfly roofs," she says. "They stay true to the homes in the surrounding neighborhood, but are designed for how people like to live today.
"If you purchase a renovated home in Magnolia, you're still buying a home that is 75-plus years old in terms of plumbing and electrical, and it won't have that open, modern layout that suits today's lifestyle. [At Briarcliff at Magnolia], the homes are newly built and come with a 10-year warranty. It's rare to find an offering like ours in a historic neighborhood like Magnolia."
The homes at Briarcliff are being sold presale, so homeowners have the opportunity to personalize their homes at the builder's Design Studio.
"The Design Studio has thousands of finishes to choose from, so you can carry your architectural style into your interior spaces," Aubree Hazel says.
The opportunity for personalization extends to the yards, she says. "You can work with our landscape designer to maximize the outdoor space with privacy hedging or fencing, making your front yard a true extension of your home."
Briarcliff at Magnolia is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Seattle and within a half-mile of the trails and tidal beaches of the 534-acre Discovery Park. Metropolitan Market is minutes away on 34th Avenue West, and about a mile away is Magnolia Village, which includes a variety of restaurants and boutiques.
