BOTHELL — After nearly half of its homes at Stratford Court quickly sold, Sundquist Homes, one of the community's builders, is introducing two of its newest four-bedroom floor plans.
Larry Sundquist, the president of Sundquist Homes, says the two plans — the Jackson and the Weston — "represent the next evolution of floor-plan living."
"This year, Sundquist Homes celebrates 40 years of building homes in the greater Seattle area," he says. "One of the key reasons for our success and longevity is our emphasis on reinventing our home designs to reflect how people like to live today. The Weston and Jackson plans are both great examples of this."
The 3,172-square-foot Jackson plan has a great-room layout. There is a den at the entry that can be used as a guest suite, thanks to an adjacent three-quarter bath. The kitchen includes an island with seating, and a covered back porch off the dining area offers a shaded spot for outdoor dining.
Upstairs are four bedrooms, as well as an open loft that can be used as an informal media room or play space, or enclosed during construction to serve as a traditional bonus room.
Including nearly 3,600 square feet, the Weston design also features a den and adjacent three-quarter bath at the entry; a second office space with a built-in desk is at the back of the home, off the great room. In addition to an island with seating for four, the kitchen features a pantry for added storage space.
There is an open loft space and a bonus room upstairs, as well as a master retreat with separate sitting room and two walk-in closets.
Both floor plans have three-car tandem garages, which are ideal for storing recreational equipment, and include hub spaces that lead from the garage to the kitchen.
"One of the things that a lot of floor plans lack today is a 'drop zone,' " Sundquist says. "The hub space functions as that interim space where your can leave your keys, store your coat or charge your mobile devices. It's a neutral zone between your living space and garage. We've staged one of our Jackson home designs so you can see it for yourself."
The homebuilder is introducing its technology package to the remaining homes at Stratford Court. The new homes include automated lighting control throughout the main levels, and great rooms and master suites come with speakers installed. Back porches are prewired for outdoor speakers.
Homes include USB-plug and power-outlet combos so homeowners can charge their smartphones and tablets. Cat 5 Ethernet wiring allows for private high-speed networks and enhanced security systems.
Walls above the fireplaces include in-wall component-cable tubing, which provides a seamless, no-wiring look for flat-screen TVs.
Homeowners can utilize the Lutron app control system to adjust the temperature or turn off the lights from any room with a smartphone or tablet.
Stratford Court is located in Bothell's Canyon Park area and offers convenient access to Interstate 405. It is approximately 6 miles from Mill Creek Town Center, 7 miles from Alderwood Mall and 15 miles from the Microsoft campus in Redmond.
