LYNNWOOD — This weekend, Sundquist Homes opens its newest community, Carvell Glen, an intimate collection of 10 three- and four-bedroom homes located near Martha Lake.
The neighborhood is offering tours of its newly completed model home today and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"I live in this area, and it is a prime location," says Larry Sundquist, the president of Sundquist Homes. "It's a great address for homeowners who have commutes in different directions — it offers great connectivity regardless of where you're headed.
"I like to joke that I live 20 minutes from everywhere, whether we're driving to Seattle to see a play or watch a Seahawks game, or going out to dinner in downtown Bellevue. In addition, you can drive to Mill Creek Town Center in just a few minutes, and Alderwood Mall is less than 10 minutes away."
Carvell Glen is across the street from the 26-acre Martha Lake Airport Park. Once a community airfield, the park includes soccer and baseball fields, a skate park, a picnic shelter and playgrounds.
"Having this park virtually in your backyard is a huge amenity," Sundquist says. "On a nice, sunny day, you can stretch out on the grass with a book, walk your dog or enjoy a picnic with your family."
The homes at Carvell Glen will be detailed with architectural stone and Hardie-Plank siding. Color schemes were chosen to create a welcoming streetscape, Sundquist says.
Homebuyers can choose from four floor plans: the Belvoir, Dalton, Jackson and Hansbury.
The four-bedroom, three-bath Belvoir design is the largest of the four at 3,228 square feet. It has an open great room, a den, a dining room and a full bath on the main living level. Upstairs, there is a bonus room, a master suite with five-piece master bath, and three additional bedrooms. The home includes a two-car garage.
The three-bedroom Dalton plan includes a three-car garage, an open great room, and a flex room off the entry. A bonus room, a master suite with five-piece master bath and an oversize bonus room are located upstairs.
The Jackson plan has a hub room off the three-car garage — "perfect for dropping off coats, keys and mail without cluttering your living space," Sundquist says. There is a den off the entry, and an informal great room and dining area. On the second level is an open loft or bonus room, a master bedroom with en suite, and three additional bedrooms.
The Hansbury plan has a formal living room, a dining room with a coffered ceiling, and an informal family room. "A first-floor den has a three-quarter bath across the hall, so it can double as a guest suite when you have out-of-town visitors," Sundquist says.
