SEATTLE — Construction has begun at Vik Ballard Condominiums, where visitors can tour a one-bedroom-plus-den model home, and view floor plans and a building model.
When complete, the community will include 117 homes near the corner of 17th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Market Street in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.
Erik Mehr of Erik Mehr and Associates, who is handling home sales at Vik Ballard Condominiums, says an eclectic mix of shopping, nightlife, restaurants and parks make Ballard one of Seattle's hottest neighborhoods.
Ballard is appealing for homebuyers, Mehr says: "Leave the car, or get rid of it all together — the ability to walk everywhere is one of the best amenities Vik Ballard offers.
"These homes provide the location, interior finishes and pricing for today's buyer."
The interiors at Vik Ballard have a contemporary design that includes custom wood cabinetry in the kitchens and baths, slab quartz stone countertops with waterfall edges, stainless steel appliances, undermount sinks, designer faucets, wine/beverage coolers and 9-foot ceilings.
"High-end finishes are the norm at Vik Ballard, and so are smart details," Mehr says. "Flex storage spaces are found in most homes, including customizable closet systems. USB charging ports are among the standard features."
An entry lobby at Vik Ballard welcomes residents and guests with two casual seating areas and a full-time concierge. Just past the lobby elevator is a fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights.
Residents can take in Ballard and Ship Canal views from a rooftop plaza on the sixth floor. The space includes a fire pit, barbecue, lounge chairs and an area for dogs.
Junior one-bedroom homes at Vik Ballard are priced from $254,900, and one-bedroom homes start at $349,900. Mehr says most of the homes at Vik Ballard will be one-bedrooms or one-bedroom-plus-dens.
"It's not uncommon to spend upwards of $2,000 per month on rentals in Ballard — that's $120,000 over five years," he says. "You can start building equity instead at Vik Ballard Condominiums. Why rent when you can own in the heart of Seattle's hottest neighborhood?"
