BOTHELL — Stratford Court is celebrating the grand opening of its model home today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Located in the Canyon Park area of Bothell, the community's homes feature technology packages to enhance home automation.

"Our newly completed model home features the next evolution of home design — from the layout to the technology package that comes standard," says Larry Sundquist, president of Sundquist Homes, the builder at Stratford Court. "We've been building homes in the Seattle area for 40 years, and one of the reasons for our success is the emphasis we place on listening to our homeowners and adapting our home designs to fit their changing needs."

The model home features the four-bedroom Jackson floor plan. It has an open great-room design, and includes a den with an adjacent three-quarter bath on the main living level. There is a hub space with a pantry off the kitchen that functions as a "drop zone" for homeowners, Sundquist says.

"It's perfect for setting down keys and mail, storing coats or recharging mobile devices in the included USB outlet," he says. "It serves as a buffer space between the three-car tandem garage and kitchen, keeping your living space free from clutter."

The 3,172-square-foot Jackson plan includes an open loft/bonus room on the second floor that can be used as a play space, library or media/game room.

When touring the model home, individuals can test out the technology package. There is automated lighting control throughout the main level, and the great room and master suite come with speakers installed. The back porch is prewired for outdoor speakers.

"The Jackson plan has a covered back porch, making it the perfect home for summer barbecues and parties," Sundquist says.

The home includes USB-plug and power-outlet combos so homeowners can charge their smartphones and tablets. Cat 5 Ethernet wiring allows for a private high-speed network and an enhanced security system.

The wall above the fireplace includes in-wall component-cable tubing, which provides a seamless, no-wiring look for a flat-screen TV.

Homeowners can utilize the Lutron app control system to adjust the temperature or turn off the lights from any room with a smartphone or tablet.

"Sundquist Homes recognizes the importance of technology in our daily activities, which is why we included these packages as standard," Sundquist says. "You'd be hard pressed to find a home on the market at this price point that provides the connectivity that we do."

Stratford Court offers convenient access to Inter-state 405. It is approximately 6 miles from Mill Creek Town Center, 7 miles from Alderwood Mall and 15 miles from the Microsoft campus in Redmond.

"Half of the homes at Stratford Court have been sold," Sundquist says. "In addition to opening our new model home, we are also releasing our remaining homes on the market this weekend. There are only a handful of opportunities remaining to purchase a new home at Stratford Court."
