CLE ELUM — Across the sylvan pine forests of Suncadia's Tumble Creek neighborhood, timing for dawn and sunset are determined by Mother Nature.
According to Heather Rugh, Suncadia's member-ship, sales and events coordinator, a day in the life at Tumble Creek is unhurried and informal by design.
She says it's part of what has attracted Suncadia buyers to a Tumble Creek vacation home or homesite on the eastern bluffs of the Cascades, just over an hour from Seattle.
Tumble Creek's 2,600 acres offer natural, recreational and hospitality amenities, as well as access to Suncadia's 6,400-acre spread of woodlands, meadows, trails and the Cle Elum River.
"A lot of people hear how beautiful it is at Suncadia," says Tumble Creek club manager Jared Jeffries. "But not until you actually come to Tumble Creek do you see it for yourself. Our owners truly appreciate that they have a tremendous sense of community here. They like that Tumble Creek is a private club, but that it is not pretentious. It's all about being relaxed."
He says the days at Tumble Creek typically begin the same: by embracing the outdoors. At The Cabins at Tumble Creek, Northwest-inspired homes feature wrap-around porches, where homeowners often add a swinging bench on which to enjoy the day's first cup of coffee.
Homes at The Cabins range in size from 2,400 to 3,300 square feet. The two-story homes include hardwood flooring, a stone fireplace and granite kitchen countertops.
Buyers can choose to have an estate-quality custom home built on the roughly 1-acre homesites at Tumble Creek. Floor-plan choices range from a 3,586-square-foot home with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths to a four-bedroom, 5.5-bath home with nearly 8,000 square feet of living space.
Recently released homesites at Tumble Creek are priced starting at $120,000.
Homeowners who are also golf club members may choose to start their day at The Golf House & Grill, located at the Tom Doak signature course at Suncadia.
"Guests come in, have a seat on the patio and enjoy the views while Chef Chad Storms prepares his breakfast specialties for guests," Rugh says.
Just up the road from The Golf House, swimmers, tennis players and fitness buffs can enjoy the facilities at the Hill House. Nearby is a bocce ball lawn.
For overnight fun, the Sasse Mt. Outpost offers a "glamping" compound of tents and cooking facilities located a short hike into the backcountry. Rugh says residents utilize Sasse Mt. Outpost for kids' overnight parties, birthday celebrations and rustic retreats with business partners.
"Whether it's golf, social fun or family activities, our programming is about bringing our residents together to enjoy their community," Jeffries says. "That is what Tumble Creek is all about."
