BELLEVUE — Belvedere is a community of 81 homes located on 36 acres at the summit of Cougar Mountain. It features westerly views that stretch to the Olympic Mountains.

"[Belvedere] offers an impressive streetscape with grand architecture, oversize homesites and the peaceful, natural surroundings of its neighbor, Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park," says Stephanie Schuessler, the community sales manager.

One of the home designs available at Belvedere, the contemporary McCartney plan, earned the Grand Award as best single-family detached home over 4,000 square feet as part of last month's 2014 Gold Nugget Awards.

Presented at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in San Francisco, the awards honor architectural design and planning excellence from around the world. Judges called the McCartney plan "a creative blend of traditional and contemporary elements."

Belvedere has several homes for sale that are nearing completion, in addition to its presale homes.

"We have four three-story homes that will be ready for move-in this fall," Schuessler says. "The four showcase the Elinor and Brothers designs, which are as thoughtful and creative in design as the McCartney."

The four-bedroom Elinor has a three-car garage located under the home. "Adjacent to the garage is a bonus space with a full bath — it would make a lovely guest suite, theater room or office," she says. "Because the garage is on the lower level, the main floor has windows on all four sides, allowing natural light to pour into the home."

The floor plan features an open great room on the main level, as well as a formal dining room, sitting room, and guest suite with full bath. Upstairs, the master suite is separated from the other bedrooms by a flex area that can be used as an extension of the master suite or as its own space.

The Brothers plan has five bedrooms and a four-car garage. "The driveway leads up and around the home so the garage is hidden from the street," Schuessler says.

On the lower level is a rec room, as well as a guest suite with full bath. The main level has an open great room and a balcony with westerly corridor views, as well as a private guest room and a three-quarter bath near the kitchen.

This month, Belvedere is introducing its four-bedroom Lilian plan. An elaborate dual-sided staircase spans the home's three stories, and the main-level formal living room is flanked by a master retreat, open family room and kitchen. On the lower level is a library and media room, and the third floor includes two bedrooms and a bonus room.

"There are a limited number of homesites available for this design, so interested homebuyers should act quickly," Schuessler says.

Those who purchase a home at Belvedere this weekend will receive a Sub-Zero built-in refrigerator, a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer with pedestals, and incentives on interior finishes.

"Homeowners who are purchasing presale can personalize their spaces," Schuessler says. "You'll work with a professional designer who, room by room, will help you choose your interior finishes."

Belvedere is located less than 10 miles from downtown Bellevue and less than 15 miles from Seattle.
