REDMOND — When Nadine Clayton moved to Redmond from Montana to be closer to her children, Kempin Meadows was one of the first communities that she toured.

At the time, the neighborhood had only a sales center and a few homes under construction. "I looked for a new home for over a year, and Kempin Meadows was always at the top of my list," she says.

When she returned this spring, the neighborhood was in full bloom — and Clayton became a new homeowner. She says a key reason that she chose the community was its peaceful setting, which includes two neighborhood parks and 2.5 acres of wetland preserves.

"It's very pastoral," Clayton says. "My home backs up to the wetlands, which is really
appealing. I have a view of the greenbelt from my bedroom and living room. I've even seen deer in my backyard."

She plans to move into her new home later this summer. Until then, she visits the neighborhood regularly, often with friends and family in tow.

"I brought my sister, and she could not believe how gorgeous the landscaping is," Clayton says. "The community rain garden has flowering plants, reeds and lily pads. It's really beautiful."

That's a sentiment that listing agent Jim Summers says he hears often. "We have homeowners from nearby neighborhoods who stop by just to see how striking our homes and landscaping are," he says. "The transition from a blank canvas to this picturesque community has been remarkable."

Built by Toll Brothers, the community of three- to five-bedroom homes is available in six designs. Front yards are maintained by the homeowners' association.

"We have homes with lower-level bedrooms and recreation rooms, or third-floor loft spaces with full baths," Summers says. "Almost three-quarters of our homes have been spoken for, and the homes we have remaining for sale are on some of the best homesites available. Many are on the greenbelt, and some have mountain views. Other available homes face east toward the wetlands."

One of the homes is move-in-ready and located directly across the street from the rain garden. It features the three-bedroom Goodwyn design.

Buyers who purchase a presale home can work one-on-one with a professional designer to personalize the interiors with their desired color palettes and finishes.

"I met with the designer and brought along pictures of the look I wanted," Clayton says. "I was able to choose everything — countertops, cabinetry, paint. It's turning out just as I pictured."

Kempin Meadows is approximately 4 miles from Redmond Town Center, 6 miles from Marymoor Park and 7.5 miles from the Microsoft campus.
