Depending on traffic conditions - only safe to use curisecontrol away from congested areas.

15 miles roundtrip to/from Seattle during non-peak traffic, I set it a few miles above and just sail (it variates a bit when going up/down, but not much).
A cop isn't going to nab you for going over a couple MPH, plus you'd be surprised at how fast people pass you when your cruise is set. One thing: I stay out of the 2 left lanes and let the speeders go by, I figure they're gonna get nabbed ahead of me. going 62 mph vs. 72 mph = no time saved.
Traffic lights when you get to into a city (Renton) will negate any effects from speeding, IMO.
Luck of the draw at intersections....I've found that when I'm not speeding or rushing, I make more traffic lights. When you're in a hurry, that's when you speed and miss every light! :-)
