Two return programs likely to be extended
Car companies are extending programs that help buyers feel more secure with their purchases. General Motors says its money-back guarantee is going so well it will extend the program into early 2010. The program, which offers refunds within 31 to 60 days of purchase, was slated to last two months and end Nov. 30. But it will now last until Jan. 4, 2010. A spokesman for Hyundai announced last week that the company may extend through 2010 its popular "Hyundai Assurance" program, which allows customers who lose their jobs the opportunity to return their vehicles for a refund. The program was set to expire at the end of the year.
